When Roskilde University (RUC) needed to optimize the use of their buildings, and in this context, the advisory group explored the possibility of relocating the administration, management, and department sections from RUC’s building 30 to building 03.
The layout of the building has a reception and departments on the ground floor, and administration and management on the first floor. This arrangement allows daily life with students and visitors to unfold freely. Indoor and outdoor spaces also merge, facilitated by a series of new facade openings that provide easy access to the inner courtyard.
NORD placed significant emphasis on creating an diverse mix of teachers, researchers, and students, thereby establishing the best conditions for academic synergies. The transformation of building 03 considers both RUC as a whole and the architectural possibilities for layout and opening up the building to visitors and daily users.
In collaboration with future users, NORD has identified the needs for future use and aimed to create an inspiring and efficient academic environment, providing opportunities for both open collaboration and individual focus.
