The House of Natural Science was designed with the agenda to create an exciting place to experience and showcase natural science. We need more people to go into natural science and this house is made to open research for more people and eventually draw more people to study a natural science subject at higher level.
The house provides a setting for developing new methods of teaching natural science where the teachers can meet, gain valuable new knowledge and teach their pupils in a different setting. A number of businesses working within the natural science field are affiliated to the center, which makes the teaching more connected to the things going on outside the classroom.
To make the building an open learning platform Nord Architects has designed it with fully visible installations. The idea was to show how a building works so pupils can study them and learn about the different elements that make up a building as well. The ceilings are made from stretch metal all and therefore has made all installations connected to fire, acoustics, electricity and IT that are usually behind the ceilings fully visible.
In designing the house NORD Architects has collaborated with different producers to get innovative products and technologies in to the house and make it a showcase for den newest technology.
